This Mormon-inspirational romance was a better book than Kelly's last Regency Romance, The Admiral's Penniless Bride. Interesting characters and a lot of fun, historical detail. (Although I find it hard to believe that, even back in 1909, someone might think that warm liver salad was worth cooking!) The end of the book is going to be a lot more meaningful for someone who is Mormon, I think, but the book is full of Kelly's usual warmth, humor and historical detail and is definitely worth reading.

I first read this years ago and didn't remember much about it, and at the end of the second go around I'm glad I reread it. I loved the slow building of the relationship between Paul and Julia. It felt real. And they had a nice story to go along with them.

I rarely give books a five star review...my typical is a 4. This book made me consider breaking that trend. This book is both inspiring, entertaining, and a cute read. I loved this book.

I'm not even sure where to start with ths review, a friend of mine gave me this book to read. We pass fun, clean, romantic books back and forth. She calls them "squishy, happy books" . That is what I expected, a book that made me smile and not have to think about anything serious for a while. I expected a story where two people meet, go through some sort of problem, fall in love, and live happily ever after. Ths book gave me all of that and so much more. It really made me think a lot about what I believe and how I live those beliefs. It also asked some interesting questions that have made me take a deeper look at my life. It also gave me, in a strange way, some insights into things pertaining to my life right now. I am so gad that I have a wonderful friend who gave me this book to read. I really loved it.

I'm a fan of Carla Kelly thanks to a dear friend of mine who lent me a bunch of her books a few years ago. I was quite excited to find out that Kelly had a new book out. LDS fiction is not one of my favorite genres to read, so I was a little apprehensive to pick this one up. I was happy to find that I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed Kelly's other books, and I look forward to other future books that she writes.

I loved this Western/historical romance (LDS). I was intrigued by the historical elements of a rancher's life in the early 20th century (especially all the cooking details) and also appreciated the message about finding your own testimony.

I loved this book. When I got it I was pleasantly surprised that it was an LDS fiction book. I tend to shy away from LDS fiction because a lot of it is very poorly written and seems to be published just because it's LDS fiction. NOT so with this book. It was well written and I loved the story.
Once I realized that it was a decent book I tried to save it for a trip, but I kept reading more and more and couldn't put it down.
I'd totally recommend it to friends.
