I've never been so quickly invested in a book in my entire LIFE. It consumed my thoughts all day every day and I was reading any chance I could get: on my phone while at work in between tasks, walking to my car, while eating, and laying in bed (and losing A LOT of sleep). There was so much hatred and mystery between the full cast of characters and I just wanted to keep going to get any morsel of interaction or answers that I could get. I loved every single second.

The fantasy concept of Bonds is interesting but poorly explained. In particular, there’s a lot of weird stuff about consent that is really poorly addressed. I think that the characters are good but the main character is constantly engaged in information withholding which drives me nuts when I know that talking to someone would likely solve her problems! Also, this book has some sexual tension but there is no actual payoff which was confusing based off the recommendations I received. It’s an engaging read, but I feel like it needs refinement. Also, it’s way too long!

This book had less spice than I was expecting. I came for the spice but stayed for the plot. This book can be trashy but in the fun way. One of the love interests enrages me so much. The love interests treat her so bad at the start. I'm waiting to see if in the 2nd book they will tell us more on how Oli's bonds felt during her 5 year run. My main complaint for this book is that the characters cuss like way too much and sometimes the dialogue feels a bit cringey. If I had to take a shot everytime a character says "fuck" or "... fuck out" I would be passed out drunk on the street. I will be reading book 2 though cuz the plot does have me intrigued.
