My mom bought this book for my daughter and us and it made me cry. A lot. I love how it shows how a child sees their parent and how the parent sees their child. Adorable.

It’s cute, but some of the rhymes didn’t make sense, it’s hard to make rhymes work sometimes. The illustrations are cute though

Sentimental book about parental love. I think many of the rhymes are forced and wouldn't make much sense to a child, but if read with love the child will feel it.

I learned of this book from a friend on Tumblr when she posted about it, so I bought it. I have never had children, but I was once a child. The words touched me and opened up "all of the feels."

The illustrations for each grouping of thoughts are of an elder teddy bear and the child bear. The rhymes are simple, but the feelings are huge.

"I am your water wings, you are my deep.
I am your open arms, you are my running leap."

I have copies of many of my favorite childhood books. This is a new book for me, but it is already a favorite.

This is now my favorite children’s book. I cannot express how beautifully written and accurate this story seemed to me. The storyline was specific and the theme was held throughout. The book at times read like a poem, and the description of love was refreshing and genuine. Synonyms, comparisons, and metaphors were used in describing a parent’s love for their child.
Multiple means of words were used as a craft. Love was able to use synonyms for love and caring that can be describe in everyday activities and experiences. For example, a wet bath and dry towel being of need to each other can be symbolic for the love and need between a parent and child.
I wish I could express better how perfect the language was in this story and how well the author used craft to develop a truly perfect children’s book.
Thank you for writing this! I will go on to share this with my classes and my own children when I start my family one day.
I could use this with any age to prompt poetry and teach students about comparisons (like and as) to create writing. This would be perfect for a poetry lesson to have children come up with a book about someone they love in their life.

This is a very sentimental book and it got me. Everything is about the opposites or yin and yang between parent and child. ex. "I am you quiet place; you are my wild". I am not a parent, but even just being an aunt, I see how these relationships fit in just like this book is saying. The two can be the perfect compliment and also not, it all depends on what the parent puts into it.

As someone who doesn't have children, this tugs at that deep longing inside them. I have been around two wild kids and I know how much can be consumed by fighting and tantrums and sleepless nights. Parenting is the hardest job in the world, but there is still something in me that longs for it. Children are brutal, but those moments of gold somehow make it all worth it.

I know this book is a beginner book and meant for the best parts of child rearing and it is overly sentimental and despite all that, it still made me feel and tear up just a little. It's a good book.

This is a really beautiful book about the love between a parent and a child. I can't tell you how much I love it, and how often I will read it to my as yet unborn children.

Fantastic writing. Like many young children's books, it has a limited number of words, but they convey a deep, touching, and fun message. I was so happy every time I read these words out loud to my children.
