It’s a compelling story. But, more than half of the story is derived (nearly intact) from a recent sensational news story and the rest pretty much jumps the shark.

There must be something in the water here as I happened to read another Irish author's book and I'm in awe.. Dervla McTiernan and her "What happened to Nina" has hit me hard. Maybe because I'm a mum of 2 girls and I can't even imagine what I would do if anything happened to them..
Back to the book - girl got missing but from the start we can suspect what happened.. Question is are we ever going to find out? How far would you go as a parent to protect your child? What steps you would take to get to the bottom of it?
The story is based on the real life events which makes it very interesting read..
I'm sure that if you are a parent - you are going to love it. If you're not - you might not connect with this book but that's OK I guess. For me it is a giant 5 star read

If you enjoyed the show The Killing this one is for you. It gives off the atmospheric creepy vibes while also diving into emotions of what a missing child feels like for a family. I wouldn’t classify it as a true thriller if you’re looking for a whodunnit mystery, probably go for something else. I also think I would’ve enjoyed it with a few less narrators overall but it didn’t take away from the story.
In the end, a good autumn read to get you into cozy season.
