This book was pretty good, although not quite as good as its predecessors in my opinion. It was a little slower paced in the middle and I could guess most of what was going to happen before it happened. However, predictability didn't make it bad; Shadowsight in particular had some really nice and unique chapters in this one. I'm hoping the second half of this arc is just as good as the first one. I'm pretty sure I guessed who the impostor was near the beginning of this book, so I'm looking forward to finding out if I'm right.

I am hopelessly hooked on this series again! I find myself thinking about it a lot when I'm not reading, and wishing I could go back to doing so. I'm addicted all over again!
I felt really bad for Bristlefrost in this one. As a spy, she was just trying to keep the fallout to a minimum, but fooling Bramblestar meant fooling her friends as well. It would be so hard to make the ones you care about think you're a traitor! It would also be hard to be in the position she was in - she wanted to fight against the impostor but also had to protect Bramblestar's body so his spirit could return to it.
Speaking of which, the fact that Bramblestar is fading gives me so much anxiety!! I hope he can come back. I'll be sad if he doesn't! I have no idea how this is going to get resolved.
P.S. I KNOW WHO IT IS FINALLY!

Okay, so Berrynose was a little shit but I was surprised that I was actually upset when he died! His death was glossed over though, which bothered me a little. He did try to do what he thought was right, even though he was a pain in the ass. Oh and Stemleaf dying made me tear up a little, too!P.S. I KNOW WHO IT IS FINALLY!

When the impostor told Squirrelflight that he came back for her, I realized it was Ashfur. It's kinda weird, though - I mean yeah, he was a manipulative jerk in life, but he never seemed like he was evil to the core. It's pretty vindictive for him to come back and wreak havoc on the clans JUST because of Squirrelflight. Just seemed kind of out of left field and convoluted. *shrugs*azure_sk1es_'s review
