This book was a lot slower and more supernatural than the other books. Still good but just took a bit longer for me to get through. Good ending.

I listened to this as an audiobook on Audible. Did I listen to all the Dexter series, yes. Did the narration SUCK?? YES. These probably would’ve been much better if I would’ve actually physically read the books instead of listening to Jeff Lindsay’s awful narration, but ya live and ya learn.

'blah blah" said Dex.
"Blah blah" said Deb
Over and over and over the word "said" is used back to back to back. 8 lines in a back and forth conversation said said said.
Also, every other chapter Dex needed extra food because of his amazing awesome metabolism? It doesn't need to be mentioned this often..

A great filler read to the Dexter series. There were some parts of the story where I felt lost and it lagged on for too many pages but it was interesting to make the connections for this crime scene case. Overall I think this story was a filler book as a part of the series in order to help Dexter gain a sense of normalcy and family connection with the kids. Although still well written and gives each character a chance to shine and develop.
