I read this novel for a college class on Middle Eastern literature, and I must say that this was the least engaging item on the course syllabus.
The story opens with Cham, an Israeli soldier, being kidnapped and left for dead by a Palestinian commando unit. Cham wakes up days later in Palestine, body intact but memory lost. With no recollection of who he is, Cham assumes a new identity, that of Nessim, the lost brother of the young Palestinian woman Falastin who took Cham in. The story unfolds from there, an exploration of identity, allegiance, and agency in a tumultuous setting of duality.
Conceptually, the story is intriguing, but its execution is poor. Characters are underdeveloped caricatures, and the story is overdone, filled with either convenient or entirely unexplained twists and turns. A solid 2/5 stars.

No entendía la mitad de lo que decía. Además de esto, hubo varias escenas que no me gustaron nada y que estaban relacionadas con el islam
