It was a such a spooky read that really picked up after the first half. After I finished Lewis’s part I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed Denorah’s character.
Spoiler She’s an excellent example of a final girl troupe, that also worked to redeem the sins of her ancestors.

The Only Good Indians utilizes an incredibly unique narrative style, really feeling as if you're following the characters' thoughts through every event in the book. This really lets you get to know the characters and lends itself to the book's tenser moments, in which the tension is almost palpable.

This book offers a horror with a deeper meaning; a look at Native American culture and treatment within the United States (the good and the bad). This story speaks to tradition, the rules of hunting, and respecting nature along with racism and colonization coated in gore. Definitely a book that will stick in my mind and inspire me to read more indigenous works.
