The three books are a great experience.
Katniss takes strainght to Panem and tells you exactly what you don't want to hear in the most beautiful words.

Après avoir lu cette trilogie en entière, je peux en conclure que je l'ai apprécié

J'ai en effet aimé le monde de ce livre ainsi que tous ses personnages et des histoires qu'ils ont vécus.

All of these books were quite well written. However, the main idea of the games was sickening. We excuse it with "it's just a story", but even in a story, it's not acceptable to me for kids to be killing other kids. That's morbid... The plot was creative and unpredictable, though, so I did enjoy reading these and I have re-read them.

Re-reading these before the movie comes out in March. Trying to refresh my memory since I haven't read the first book since it was originally released!

It's pathetic that it has taken me a year and a half to read this series, but it has. I read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire in about 3 days. And then I waited months for Mockingjay to come out, preordered it, then school started, then I didn't finish it until a few weeks ago.

The first and second books were impossibly fast reads. I need to go read them again, actually, because I'm not sure I completely remember all the heart-wrenchy-ness that I want to remember.
Mockingjay was rough. There's big patch in the middle that is just SO SLOW. I started reading and stopped and started and stopped and restarted and restarted like 5 times, no joke. Push through it. It's worth it. Painful. Traumatizing. You'll probably throw your book, scream, then pick it up off the ground and put it away nicely, and then growl at it irritably and open it again 5 minutes later. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I'll be honest. I hated who Katniss ends up with. But it was probably a necessary ending. I have a hard time dissing authors' endings without a really good reason, because I'm a writer and I respect what the characters were telling the author they needed. But I still don't have to always like it.

But seriously, if you're in post-mortem depression about Harry Potter still (yes, I openly admit that I STILL AM, YEARS after the books and MONTHS after the movies), you need to stop screwing around and read the Hunger Games. Because they are seriously, incredibly good. Probably my favorite books of last year. And the movie is going to be freaking delectably amazing so you wanna read them before it comes out; otherwise, you'll be missing out to the n'th degree.
So get on it.

I'm not sure why, but I never did reviews on any of the books in the Hunger Games trilogy before now. So since I just received the complete trilogy in this box set, I figured it would be a good time.

The Hunger Games:

I obviously enjoyed reading this one. If I didn't I wouldn't have continued on with the series. This was the first ever book that I had read from the dystopian genre, and it blossomed into a very large obsession.

The story was so unique from anything that I'd ever seen before, so I read it as an eBook. The plot was just amazing!! Suzanne Collins had my heart racing, and I was on the edge of my seat! The Games were so intense, and "I just love that!"

Katniss was the star, and I must say that I look up to her. After everything she's been through she still remains this strong girl that could take on the world. I didn't really like Gale. So yes, I am team Peeta! Peeta was perfect. Enough said! :)

Overall, awesome book. Everyone knows that already though!

Catching Fire:

My favorite book in the series. I can't say much more without spoiling, but this book made me really happy.

Mockingjay:

One of the saddest books ever. Ugh, this book made me cry. Well, not full-out cry, but some wetness started to form around the eyes a little. It also made me mad. But not in a 'I hate this book so much!', kind of way. I loved it, but not my favorite book in the series.

So that's the Hunger Games! If you haven't read it, you're missing out big time and you should!!

The way I've read this series like 5 times and still cry like a baby. 10 out of 10 would let Suzanne hurt me again
