I read this as a kid and i can not get over how much i missed reading this book. Its unique style and display kept me at bay for a while but when i read it, well i'm just glad i did in the end

Some childrens books are enjoyable to read as an adult even if not read with a child. In my view, this is not one of them. If I were reading this with my daughter (as I probably will when she is old enough), I probably would have enjoyed her giggling over some of the silly poems and gotten vicarious enjoyment that way. On my own, it is simply not interesting enough from an adult perspective.

I love this book of poems! It is one of my favorites from when I was a child. I recommend this to the young and old alike if you like to smile. Shel had a way of making everything be funny and relative to everyday life.

Some of my favorites from this one: Monsters I've Met, Rock n Roll Band, The Meehoo with an Exactlywatt, Cloony the Clown, Union for Children's Rights, and Kidnapped.

I read this shortly after I read "Where the Sidewalk Ends." Both are books that no one should leave childhood without reading. And if you happen to have made it to adulthood without reading these books, go pick them up. They're fun.

I grew up with this book. It was read to me as a child and I still enjoy a glance at it every now and then. The rhythms, rhymes, and accompanynig pictures captivated me as a child and continue to now.
