A sweet story, decently written with a touch of non-denominational supernatural and only about 20% too long. You'll see the ending coming a mile away, but it's still nice to read it.

Interesting concept
This book was based on an interesting concept, but the characters, dialogue, and plot are stiff and trope-y. It wrapped up far too cleanly in the end, too.

5 stars! I loved this book. There was a bit of fantasy and *magic* in the book that I loved without being too over the top. The story tied up so nicely and I would read over and over again. I fell in love with Lucy.

Fast paced and unique
I really enjoyed this unique spin on a ghost story. There was some predictability but I loved the characters and the “loose threads” enough I could forgive it and still give the book 5 stars.

This ghostly mystery was a slow starter for me. Told from two perspectives, we learn about a single mother whose son was killed in a hit-and-run 8 years ago, and a teen who has escaped from the foster system after years of abuse and neglect. Both are somehow drawn to a small town in the mountains and a mysterious old woman named Lucy. Between Lucy and a calendar that seems to write notes on itself, we learn more about the back story on these two, culminating in a poignant and tense final few scenes. I shed some tears on the climax, for sure.
