While the description of this book suggested a quite standard fantasy story line (somebody who didn't want the job is suddenly required to save the world type of thing) this book had quite a few surprises in store.
The story is told from a perspective of quite a few very different people, which I always find interesting. Slowly the past and various back stories unravel, so one gets to create a connection to the characters throughout the book and understand their decisions and actions.
I really liked the magic system here, it was rather unique and interesting, not at all like every other fantasy book out there.
The story was complex and told in a gripping pace that made me want to just read and read. I can't wait for the next book in the series!
