This is hilarious! The characters are delightful, and the heists are written in perfect amounts of detail as they go off nearly without a hitch. The competence level is both believably high and believably low, and farcical in both directions. This was great.

Martha and her friends have learned from their previous attempts at crime and law evasion. The League of Pensioners is back and is a terrifically fun and hilarious read. This time they are in Las Vegas and their journey is full of misadventures and plans going wrong in the funniest way possible. It is not action-packed and we start to see the little old fellows start to have a  few personal things up- they might be in their seventies but the romantic struggles are still around.

This brings to mind the Last  Vegas meshed with Going with Style- the fact that the same group of actors are in both movies makes it easier.  I think possibly I enjoyed the first book more because it was such a new idea, rampaging pensioners refusing to sit in a corner and play board games– but still, it is an enjoyable adventure with a lot of humor.

This book is an absolute riot, a book of comedy and errors. This book is light, easy and a feel good read. I received this book as a free copy to read and was a bit concerned that it was translated, but it read quite well, you can tell its translated but it's not glaringly obvious. I love Martha the sweet old granny who cooks and is always on the lookout for her next coup. Martha is not a villanous geriatric but an amusing bumbling thief who seems to manage to not end up in jail despite farcial events. I enjoyed this book even though I had not read the preceeding book and would consider going back and reading the previous novel, but it doesn't seem necessary to have read the first book to understand what is going on.

I would like to thank The Reading Room and Macmillan for my free advanced reading copy.

If you enjoyed [b:The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules|19135360|The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules (League of Pensioners #1)|Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1386053397l/19135360._SY75_.jpg|21587798], then you'll most definitely enjoy this sequel.

I personally didn't like this sequel as much because it was too over-the-top with the League of Pensioners getting away with four or five different crazy criminal activities in the span of a couple of months. I did, however, enjoy the unpredictability of the plot - what will they plan next? How will they get away with it? Where will they hide their stash? What are they going to do about the biker gang that they have as neighbours?

----------------------------------------------
My average rating for The League of Pensioners series: 3/5
Check out my reviews for the rest of the series:
Book 1: The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules
Book 3: The Little Old Lady Behaving Badly

If you liked the following, then you'll probably enjoy The League of Pensioners series, and vice versa:

کاش وقت و پولم رو صرف کتاب دیگه‌ای می‌کردم. تقریبا تمام نقشه‌ها و عملیاتی که تو کتاب ذکر شده بود [برای من] غیر قابل فهم و گنگ بود.
