What a great counting book....I won a signed copy (both Author and Illustrator) from Goodreads, first-reads. Being a Pre-K teacher, I am always looking for sing song, rhyming children's books to help teach basic concepts. The silly rhymes and wonderful illustrations make this a fun teaching tool that the children won't even realize they are learning because they are laughing and enjoying the illustrations. I also am in love with the continuous rote counting throughout the story. It reinforces numbers in a repetitive pattern. But my absolute favorite part of this whole book, which was hard to pick since it is all wonderful, were the questions at the end that allows the reader to go back and count how many animals and other objects throughout the book. What a great follow up activity, along with making animal sounds and even a fun maze. This was such a great book and I am so happy that I won it. Thanks Kevin and Rex!! :)
