Trigger warnings for -
off scene implications of the main character being gang assaulted and raped by some of the men in her pack before the events of the novella take place

Alpha and Omega is a short story by Patricia Briggs, it's the first story in her "Alpha & Omega" series about wolf shifters. This story is chronologically book number 0.5 in the "Alpha & Omega" series.

I really wanted to like this story, I have an issue with the harsh treatment Ana was forced to go through before the events of this book. Ana and Charles are very cute together. I'll suspend my disbelief and accept that they fell for each other very quickly because
they're fated mates

I also wanted to pay attention and make sure that the author wasn't being insensitive in any way while writing an Indigenous man character (Charles).

There is no spice in this novella. The two main characters talk about sex but there's no spice anywhere to be found, heads up.

Overall I enjoyed this novella, but I knocked a few stars off because
I hated Leos justification of allowing Ana to be raped by several male members of the pack so he could appease his fucking wife. That part of the story was shit.

No idea why this wasn't just part of the first book.

 Boom!

And just like that, I am obsessed. I've been cooling my jets reading a novella compilation in the Mercy Thompson world and while I'd been planning to move onto this off-shoot series later, I couldn't resist reading this. Result...I loved it, immediately.

Anna was such an interesting character, who'd been through so much. The omega concept was excellent and I just loved what happened on hers and Charles' meeting.

This novella is a really complete story, rich and deep but promising so much more for the series starter, Cry Wolf. Guess what I'm reading next?
