SpoilerI found myself rolling my eyes at both of them and I never really formed a sympathy for either of them. I absolutely agree with you about the spice level. Tame. So very very tame. But saucy to have sex at the entrance of the Underworld?! Maybe not saucy but ballsy. Most definitely,  ballsy. I found myself wanting to get to know more about the side characters. Oh! And Eros' visit to the underworld to talk with Persephone. Really?! You just glossed over that?! In order to feel more for them, it was necessary to read more about the main characters...and I don't think we got that, which is such a shame. It had great potential.

I did find myself amused by Zephyrus, especially when he called himself cloud-brain. But again, I found myself wanting to know about him and his husband.

So much potential and it all feels wasted.
