Was a great read, if somewhat predictable in the end. Still didn't keep me from trying to get to the end as fast as possible.

This was actually so good. It gets a star knocked off because it was slow and less impact full in parts, considering that the good parts were excellent. Without being propaganda I felt so emotional about the ending and it was such an interesting take of a classic - if debunked - piece of Romanov lore.

Boy from remote Russian village suddenly becomes companions and bodyguard to tsar-to-be and falls in love with Princess Anastasia.

The plot twist felt self-evident to me early on, so the plot climax felt anticlimactic.

Very moving and completely absorbing. A good scratch for the Russian itch!
