I enjoyed this and it was not at all what I expected. I received a free advance ebook copy from NetGalley.

Rating: Good đ
Emotions: Surprised, disappointed, sad, satisfied.
Recommend if you: Like memoirs, know of and like Clinton Kelly.
I like Clinton since I stared watching âWhat not to wearâ, one of my favorites shows ever. I like his personality, the way he carried himself in that show and his chemistry with his co-host, Stacy London. I have enjoyed him as a co-host of the Chew aswell.
I wanted to read this to get to know him better. I was shocked to learn that he doesnât have a close relationship with Stacy, in fact, she recently blocked him on Twitter! đłđż. I was also surprised to learn he doesnât like Paula Dean either! I guess the bookâs name is appropriate.
It was saddening to know he grew tired of What not to wear, and that he doesnât really like it when people ask for his advice on fashion. I loved that show because it was not about shaming people, it gave them tools to look and feel the best they could be; it was uplifting, entertaining, educational and fun. Itâs a shame that he isnât prouder and that they arenât friends anymore.
I always suspected he was a diva, overly sensitive and a bit of a drama queen, and it was saddening to have my suspicions confirmed. I guess is true what they say: âdonât meet the people you admire, you could be disappointedâ. I still like Clinton and enjoy his work and chemistry with the rest of the Chewâs cast.
I loved the story of how he met his husband, and I found some of the other stories funny.
Even though It wasnât what I was expecting, I appreciate his honesty, I did enjoyed it for what it was and would still recommend it if your interested.

I'm going to be completely biased and say that I love this book with all my heart. I have a newfound respect for Clinton Kelly, and I hope that I'm fortunate enough to meet him one day (even though I'll probably freeze up and act stupidly intimidated).

As a fan of Kelly's since the WNTW days, I really enjoyed this collection. It was a quick am enjoyable read that gave me a few chuckles.

Book #40 Read in 2017
I Hate Everyone, Except You by Clinton Kelly
I sometimes watched the TV show "What Not to Wear" and even though I do not cook, I will turn "The Chew" on if I am home on a weekday, so I enjoyed Kelly's snark and sarcasm and figured I would try his book of essays. At times while reading, I snickered, smiled and laughed. Kelly covers a lot of topics with honesty and snark and it made for an enjoyable read. I finished the book in a day. I borrowed the book from the public library.

This book was a really endearing and entertaining read. You can't help but like Kelly, his voice is so earnest and confident. Everyone could use someone like him in your life.
Each chapter is a memory of his past and they're not in any type of order that I can tell. I liked this format. It kind of emulated a conversation with a pal where they're reminiscing about the past.
In all probability I would have given this book 3 stars if not for the first chapter: Kamikaze. The writing in the chapter had me crying with laughter. Actually crying. It was the funniest piece of writing I've ever read and I think being able to elicit that type of emotion from a reader is no easy feat. Even when I tried to tell my partner what was so funny, I couldn't because I couldn't breathe properly let alone speak. The memory of this chapter even has been giggling to myself in random moments when I think of it. Spectacular story telling right there.
While I kind of wish every chapter packed the same punch, I'm not sure Kamikaze would be so memorable (or believable) if it did. I liked the way it was the first story and the rest were more chill.

10 stars! This is without a doubt one of the funniest books ever! I highly recommend audio, so you can enjoy his voice. Be warned, there's some language.
