pg. 270 - "He'd had no idea that Great Britain's Sherlock Holmes was America's Pellinore Warthrop."

pg. 279 - "'God save me, I can't stand the English! I challenge anyone in this room to name one worthwhile thing that ever came out of the British Isles, besides William Shakespeare, Charles Darwin, and Tiptree jams! England is home to the most unattractive people on earth!' He glared at Walker. 'You are the perfect example. You are a very homely man, and don't get me started on your queen--'"

<3 Pellinore Warthrop, but the massive plot was a bit much for itself -
Spoileras was revealed in the truth about the magnificum

"Is it any wonder the power this man held over me--this man who did not run from his demons like most of us do, but embraced them as his own, clutching them to his heart in a choke hold grip. He did not try to escape them by denying them or drugging them or bargaining with them. He met them where they lived, in the secret place most of us keep hidden. Warthrop was Warthrop down to the marrow of his bones, for his demons defined him; they breathed the breath of life into him; and, without them, he would go down, as most of us do, into that purgatorial fog of life unrealized."

I just gotta say: I love, love, love these books!

The characters are fascinating to me, make me laugh, make me cry, and have my head reeling. The characters have changed so much over the course of the past three books. They have grown through the journeys they have encountered and the hardships they have endured. Seeing the characters grow up and learn life makes me smile and cry.

These books seriously get deeper with each book. This one was mind-blowing and intriguing for me to think about the meaning behind. It is not just a book of monsters and gore, it is so so much more. It is a book about understanding yourself, your demons and your ambitions. Your purpose. It is a gritty, hair-raising discovery.

I recommend these books to anyone who loves horror. If you are a Dean Koontz, Stephen King, or H.P. Lovecraft fan, I think you may find you would truly enjoy these books.

Yancey easily could have taken out 200 pages of this one.
