Several of my most trusted Goodreads friends gave this 5 stars, which makes me question my own reaction to the book. It may be that I listened to the audiobook, which meant I didn't always have my full attention on the story as I multi-tasked. Or, maybe, this being my 1st HP read (it was the first of the series that became available to me on the Libby app, and I've seen none of the movies), I would have been better off starting with book 1.

At 64, I still have a soft spot for YA, and I do enjoy fantasy, so I'm thinking the problem lies with me.
I will continue on with the series, back-tracking to the Sorcerer's Stone, but this time with a print copy, so I can give it a proper read.

“The chamber of secrets has been opened enemies of the heir…beware”

The chamber of secrets is good for so many different reasons. The plot is the book is enthralling. You get so invested in the characters. The characters are so well written and funny. I was constantly cracking me up throughout the book. During the valentines chapter I started wheezing. The lore of the chamber of secrets is also interesting. The nostalgia of this book took me back to when I was a child. This book was like comfort food. Whenever you read this book you feel so immersed into Harry’s world and thoughts.
Dumbledore at the end was also just saying so many good quotes so here was my favorite :)
