J.D. Faver never disappoints with taut suspense, to-sigh-over heroes, and heroines you wish you knew in real life. Bad Vibes is the third book in a series, but works fine as a stand-alone (though there are A LOT of characters to track). Darla's still reeling from her husband's irresponsible secrets and subsequent suicide, which left her with young twins and a boatload of bills. When undercover agent, Mike Burke, appears in her town in pursuit of human traffickers, he's paired with Darla--the town's sharpshooter. More than bullets fly fast between these two. I had minor problems with some character actions and timing, but still a thrilling read that will keep you turning pages.

Another great book from J.D. Faver. This is Book 3 in The Edge of Texas series. Book 1 is Bad Medicine, Rafael and Chloe's story and book 2 is Bad Karma, Zach and Sky's and Javier and Cassie's story. I would recommend reading the other books in the series first, only because we get so much from the points of view of other characters that it would help to know them a bit first. I guess it's not necessary, I just like them all. In this book we have Darla the sniper. I have always liked her character. She teams up with federal agent Mike Burke to bust a human trafficking operation. Their first meeting is fun and there is plenty of tension and heat between them as they work together. This book is heavy on suspense but still has plenty of romance and some lighter moments.
