This book reads like a highschooler, creative writing project in which they do not know how commas work and they have a lot of run-on sentences. This book was sold to me (18 dollars might I add) as a collection of short horror stories, the first “horror” story is quite literally the skibidi toilet meme! I understand what the author was trying to do having taboo or maybe traumatic experiences that women experience like menstruation, pregnancy, bathroom things and making those horrific but the only thing horrific was how bad the writing was!!! I would give this book a 2.5 because I do understand what the author is trying to do they just executed it really.

Really more of a 3.5 star due to the uneven quality of stories for me. This collection really starts out with bangers, but the last few stories really laid flat and lost the horror/ plot twist charms the book had in the beginning.

The head was shocking yet darkly humorous and it set up the expectations that the rest of the collection would continue on this path, but it was more of a down hill ride.

If I had to rate all the stories in order, it’d be 1-6/4-2-3/5-7-8-9-10

Though the experience fluctuated, I still bought Bora Chung’s second book and look forward to it, though cannot lie that it kind of affected my feelings going into it. Hope the SF genre of that one would pick up.
