Overall, a cute easy read. The mystique and strangeness of the castle was charming. It does deal plainly with subjects such as death and horror, but in such a way that I think it would still be palatable to a middle schooler. The ending seemed a little rushed, but I still enjoyed it.

Cinders and Sparrows is a middle grade book about Zita,a thirteen year old girl who discovers she is from a family of witches and what happens after the discovery.
The setting of the book is spooky and the writing is atmospheric.The plot is great and the story is evenly paced with action and calm alternately. I liked the descriptions of the castles and the creatures.
The word building was excellent and there were twists and turns throughout the book to keep the reader engrossed. The villains were kind of fairytale-ish but they were written very well. I loved the ending of the book.

A very good little book, full of witchy Halloween vibes. Especially the audio book, who ever did the music between the chapters was amazing. It definitely helped you feel a part of the story. It’s perfect for those who enjoy middle grade books or the Small Spaces series. I lucked out when I found this one. It was pretty good.

Very cozy, adventurous book! Good worldbuilding and some deliciously creepy descriptions. My main flaw is that it felt quite rushed towards the end and I just wish it had been longer.

En fantasyfull bok med spänning. Påminner mig om Coraline när Zita får bemöta hennes familj, men som kanske är hennes familj och att det finns flera dimensioner.
Zita är rätt orädd, nyfiken men lite seg i sin eftertänksamt. Det finns lite skräck på Coraline nivån.
Hade nog hellre velat läsa boken än lyssnat på den, då det var ett antal karaktärer man tappade bort efter några timmar.
