My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I really liked this second book in "The Elves of Lessa," series!!! Of the two books I have read so far in the series, this one is definitely my favorite. "Royal Magic," has all of the things I like about K.M. Shea's book- witty dialogue, a varied cast of characters, and heart-pounding action.
It also has one of my all time favorite tropes- marriage of convenience. I LOVED Gwendafyn and Benjimir's romance. They had great banter and chemistry from the get-go. I'm already looking forward to their cameo appearances in the next book!

Speaking of cameo appearances, I loved that Arion and Tari from the first book in this series had big supporting roles in the story. It was fun to see how their lives had changed after the end of the last book.

I'm eager to see how the series continues in book three!

Royal Magic (The Elves of Lessa #2) by K.M. Shea – This series is on kindle unlimited. Absolutely read these in order because like all Kitty Shea books there is a larger story arc at play! I loved the leading lady’s spirit in this one. And the leading man’s instinctive reaction to support his wife no matter how dangerous or outrageous she wants to be made me kick my fit in giddy glee! You will love this adventure! Happy Reading!

Am I the only one who will read anything about fae or elves as long as it isn't erotica?

I flew through this second novel which follows characters that were introduced in the first, while still including our main couple in book one. There was more action in this book, I feel the stakes are slowly being raised, but it was still a fairly cosy read. Again, I absolutely loved that our Honor Guard side-characters were included, they truly are precious beans.

I usually read some nonfiction, serious stuff and then some lighthearted romance at the same time because I need some escapism. Read the Elves of Lessa series, and this second book is my absolute favorite! The best of KM Shea is here - feel-good, lighthearted, and a very trusting and affectionate bond between the two main characters. I find this slightly different from Shea's usual books, there's more UST (though still clean) and more intensity. This was so good. I binged it until midnight on a weekday and regretted it at work the next day. I wish I could wipe my memory and read this again.

I loved the twist on a typical love story where the couple is already married, but definitely not in love when it starts. A really fun book, short, quick, easy to read.

Very enjoyable

I liked this one more than the first. The wit, and the snark was just so fun. I didn’t think I would like Benji very much. But now he is my favorite character in the series.
