"The man they call Gladiator taken captive by a girl half his size and a decade younger. I’m a girl he could crush, but everything in the way he looks at me says cherish. Says treasure. Says protect. Says I’m his, too. Mine, his eyes answer."

I've read or at least started so many books lately that have left me so underwhelmed and disappointed. Hook Shot was a shining star in my dark sky of recent reads. I smiled. I laughed. I felt the feeling. I also whooped in excitement of seeing some of favs.

The hero, Kenan, is a superstar NBA player with a teenage daughter. He just got divorced. He is in New York for the summer to spend time with his daughter. I love that he is a man, not a boy. He is a lovable, grumpy, gentle giant. He will steal your heart.

Lotus is a kicka$$ heroine. Fashion is her world. She is a survivor. Sassy is her middle name. I want to be in her girl gang. I absolutely loved that the book was just as much her relationship with her friends as her romantic relationship. I hope we get to see more from this gang. I demand it.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

as soon as i finished this book, i just had no words.
this book ripped out my heart, shattered it, and then put it back together again. the third book in the hoops series, and it went out with a bang! i've said it before and i will say it again; kennedy ryan is THAT GIRL! her writing is so good, i am so ready to dig into many more of her books in future.

kenan and lotus - i am so in love! i just love the chemistry between these two characters, and how, despite everything that life threw at them, they were able to come back better and stronger. everything about this book was incredible, and i loved how we also got to see their barriers fall when it came to each other. individually, both characters were quite independent, and in this book, you get to see what happens when someone walks into your life and loves you the way you never knew was possible.

this whole series has honestly been such a breeze, i am so glad that these are the books i picked up just before the year ends! thank you kennedy ryan for your amazing work, can't wait to get my hands on more of your books in the future!!

recommending this book series to everyone, so good!
