I loved the concept. You start reading about someone's life, get into it, and then when they "bump" into someone else the story completely changes and the story is now about the person they bumped into. The author even explains the concept before the book starts. It changes maybe 25 times during the book (I didn't count so I'm not sure, could be more, could be less, but you get the scope of the different stories you will read about). What you get to see are people who are hidden drug users, cheating on their spouse, thinking of suicide, people in love, just plain grumpy, rebellious teens. Mostly ordinary people, that you pass every day. It made me think as I was reading it, about the people I was passing on my walk through the streets of NYC. What was their story? I have done this before (thinking about people I pass and what is their story), but this book brought some texture to it. After a while, I wanted some of the original characters to re-appear, but they didn't. The only thing off putting to me was the very last paragraph, which I thought was pretty corny. If this concept interests you, it is a fun read, even if you only read some of it.
