Great beginning to the manga. The parts that drew me in where Matahachi and Oko's relationship...

Rating Update 4/7/19- 4 stars to 3 stars. Matachi and Oko's relationship doesn't take up much of the volume but the fight scenes and chase scenes do. I weren't too thrilled about the latter.

Update
With the adoption of my new rating system, a two star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from April 7, 2019, conforms to the new rating system. I cannot find a synopsis of the issues in this volume online to properly assess the rating of this volume. A two star rating seems like the safe rating for now, since I cannot recall the contents of this volume and because the rating update from April 7, 2019, states that the fight scenes took up more of the volume than sections of Matachi and Oko's past.

3.25 stars. This was a pretty dull first volume, despite all of the flashy fight scenes.
