Read this book!
A must read for any woman, especially those feeling lost. I've been introduced to so many amazing women through this book, it has truly been life changing.

This could have been such a good book. I wanted to really like it - it's made up of all the things I've been enjoying reading lately; ecology, mythology, feminism, memoir. But it somehow failed to be all of them.
If it had just been what the blurb claimed 'A haunting heroine's journey for every woman who finds inspiration and solace in the natural world', it could have been SO good. But it was trying to do too much.
I really enjoyed reading about Blackie's journey of self-discovery and finding her authentic self - and the connection she forged between the natural world and the weaving of mythology as she found herself.
However, her flavour of feminism is not one that jives with mine, and I found her narrative prose overly purple, verging on ridiculous at times.

Was listening to audio and the author who narrates it had an accent and a softer voice, which I didn’t mind but I listen while I shower and it made it hard to hear it. Will maybe read the physical book another time!
