I absolutely adore Chandelle LaVaun! This world is so much fun to live in. I cannot wait for more about Em and D! I love them together! SOMA is amazing and I am so excited for Caroline and Noah. I am also loving all of the fluffy blue cats with wings!!

So, as I said before, in the reviews of all the other related books, due to BIPOC erasure and the fact that the author thought the genocide of a whole ass indigenous tribe was an acceptable plot point, I’m not giving more than one star.
Note: All these books could have been so much better with BIPOC characters. Could have included indigenous Shamans, Latin American Santería and African “voodoo” which have all been demonized by white people. This is about magic, after all. And, white people thought BIPOC spirituality was dark magic.
