Beginning in Sydney Australia, twelve year old Oscar has to write an essay explaining his absence from school.
The second narrator is Imogene, one of three sisters.
The quest has elements similar to The Wizard of Oz; and is light in tone.

Just felt slow. I picked up on a whim but would recommend to fantasy lovers. Anna might enjoy this.

Thank you Netgalley for providing a digital ARC.

The Astonishing Chronicles of Oscar from Elsewhere is an incredibly fun and adventurous book about a non-magical boy named Oscar who falls into a magical world. While this is the fourth book in the Kingdoms and Empires series, this is the first that I've read. I was happy to find that it took me no time to understand the world and the characters. This story is whimsical and exciting, and I loved the characters so much. I'm definitely planning on going back to read others from the series. I loved it!
