While I realize this might be better if I read it when I'm older, I still love a good found family. This really makes me want to get more acquainted with my neighbors and build that support system.

Beautifully written. Not much happens, yet the book really managed to capture my attention. The audiobook is narrated so so well. Cried the whole last two hours, but it was worth it.

Loved the subtle (and less subtle) ways in which the author had Parvaneh deal with Ove's clear suicidality - making sure he knew she needed helping, things needed fixing, or that he knew arrangements had been made with her for driving lessons. And having him take care of the cat, of course. It all felt really warm, like she really *saw* him and knew how to approach him.
