Trying to catch up with my reviews, Deadly Cry is a must read story that I absolutely loved last year. Kim Stone is a heroine that I want to have in real life as my friend and maybe even family/relative. She amazed me each time I read a new chapter of a new investigation that she and her team need to conduct. This book takes the stakes to another level of suspense as time is ticking faster and the run for finding the little orphan after her disappearance is high on the agenda for Kim.

So twisted and so much friendship and vulnerability showed from a favourite heroine.

Book 13 of the Kim Stone series and absolutely no signs of slowing down. Deadly Cry is another addictive page turner that I read in a day. Once I start these books it is impossible to put them down. Kim and the team are like family now and every part of the story will have an impact on you one way or another. I have said it before and I will say it again, if you have not met Kim Stone what are you waiting for?

This time we have bodies piling up daily, with no apparent connection. Why is the killer writing letters to Kim and asking her to stop him? As always there are plenty of twist and suspects to consider. At the same time Stacey is working an unsolved rape case and she is determined to find out what really happened. On top of all of this, Kim is asked to babysitting a visiting social media celebrity, much to her disgust.

The banter and the interaction of the team is a big part of what makes these books so good. Kim is not the most sociable and friendly person but she always gets the job done. She respects her team and vice versa. I would want them helping me if I was in trouble.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read.

"What are you waiting for?"
"The reveal, Keats. You're like a good crime novel; you always save something for the end."

This detective series is easily one of my favorite discoveries of 2021 and I have just the final few books left to fully catch up... Deadly Cry is already book number thirteen of a series that shows no signs of slowing down. I always have such an excellent time with these main characters, and it has been great to follow them on their journey and see them grow. There are once again personal references to the past as well as new developments, which is one of the reasons why it's best to read this series in order... You will be missing out on background otherwise. That said, the case itself stands on its own, and it's another fascinating one. We have the main case with a serial killer and kidnapping twist as well as a separate investigation lead by Stacey at the same time, so lots of different leads, twists and suspense to keep you busy along the way. Deadly Cry is exactly my kind of detective thriller and it's been great to see Alison pop up again as well... I can't wait to read the next one to learn more about the personal developments of the team!

A super quick read as usual, 13 books into the series and it's still as good as the first book. I will say for this one I felt there was just something missing slightly for me, it just felt a little less fleshed out than usual but it was still great.

I started it yesterday morning and I only stopped because I had to eat/other physical needs.
It's gripping and I loved it.
Great character development, tightly knitted and fast paced plot, a solid mystery that kept me guessing.
The solution came as a surprise and I liked it.
I appreciated the tenderness toward the victims, all of them.
It's strongly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
