Here's a random fact about my collection. This specific novel had held the No. 1 spot in my library for months before being dethroned by Into the Wild Light. The funny thing was despite topping my library, I haven't reread it since. My expectations were shattered beyond I thought possible I instead busied myself scouring bookstores for more novels just to recapture the fleeting ecstasy it caused.
Alright, back to the book. It was amazing, and was my best surprise. It's probably one of the most enthralling books I've read. There were negative reviews about it, and I do understand them (since I've felt a few of their points/criticisms to some extent.) Yeah...despite being engrossed, I wasn't blind to its flaws. Now that I think about it, I'm kinda nervous revisiting this book because I'm sure to discover more objective flaws within, then shattering its beautiful yet fragile status. And now that it isn't on the pinnacle of my rankings, it'll be happening soon.
Welp. I'm quite certain it won't go too far below my initial 9/10 rating. Need fresh rereading for updates and justifications.

So this was a page turner story of a young girl's life turned upside down after her parents died and how her life changed that of two other families. It kept me engrossed but I am not rating it 4 stars. It you have time and want a darker book, then it would be good.
