I have no idea what took me so long to read this booktok favorite, but I’m so glad I finally did.

This story is beautiful and heartbreaking and I’m so thankful to have read it.

I really enjoyed this book.
It didn’t make me cry, like some said it would. However, it made me feel nostalgic for a time in which I have not lived. The details, the descriptions, it made me feel like I was actually there.

Loved:
- details
- Greek mythology references
- that it’s narrated by Patroclus
- learning of Patroclus before he came to Phthia

Didn’t love:
- the ending felt too rushed almost? A ten year war over in just a couple paragraphs?
- I would’ve liked to know some more about some of the characters and what became of them after the war.

** would not recommend for younger than 13 because of the descriptions in some scenes **

I loved this book so much. I read it so quick, mostly in one day. I loved the story so much. I understand the hype now! The characters were amazing. I am saddened by the last part of it but happy to have read such an amazing story.
