Look, I did sob for about 20 minutes after I finished it however I don't feel the need to read it again. While I loved their relationship and I think it handled the complexity and human nature really beautifully - has the author heard of women? and I know that historically Greek mythology hasn't respected women but did expect this modern version to do more than just abuse them. Think I'll be skipping Circe too, I've heard it doesn't improve.

I did really enjoy it in the beginning, but at the end I stoped. It was to much fighting and I got bored, sadly. I’m tired and I think me being stressed to read didn’t help

I thoroughly enjoyed this story in preparation of reading the Iliad, translation by Emily Wilson. I was expecting it to be more sad because I saw so many reviews of people crying but didn’t miss not!

I was honestly expecting it to devastate me more. Very enjoyable book, I was always wanting more. Loses points because I hated Achilles in the last third so much I lost a lot of emotion around him dying.

After being recommended it so long, I’ve finally read the Song of Achilles. Though I enjoyed Miller’s writing style and twist on the Greek mythos, it seemed to drag towards the middle of the book, which made this decent sized read feel as long as the Odyssey (might just be a personal bias, as I’ve had to read that story far too many times for school)
Overall though, a very interesting and heartbreaking read, with an ‘open’, but satisfying end.
