How can this be so bad but also one of the best things I've ever read?

It’s surprisingly funny, but the characters are incredibly annoying and to top it off I heard the audiobook and I cringed with every word. It was a bit too slow for me so I skipped the whole second part lol, but the first and last part were entertaining enough. Overall, not my kind of book but the plot was so unhinged that I had to finish it.

Lighthearted occasionally fun read. Astrology is fun and this book takes lots of jabs to prove that that's all it really is. I usually love reading about flawed characters but Emily and Dawn leaned far too into cartoon villain characteristics to be taken as anything but. Cinnamon was the true star of the book.

Author left enough clues about the plot twist so the anticipation of the characters finding out was perfectly anxiety-inducing.

Enjoyable even through the Libra slander but a word of caution to avoid the Audiobook version at all costs!

this book is terrible. it's such horrible writing. i'm not completely unconvinced this is just a polished version of a bot-composed novel--an AI that was solely fed social media exchanges from millennials and garbage reality television. and the narration--egads!! it was the worst. bot-like as well.
the frequent support for elon musk and roman polanski was an odd choice. the characters were all insufferable (with the exception of cinnamon).
just ...yikes.

The main characters were awful lol but this was a lot of fun. I had a funny thought as to where it was going really early on and was right 😂

A book about truly dreadful people. While I did give it a low rating, admittedly at times it was hard to put down as I wanted to see where exactly the story was going to go. Dorn does do a fantastic job at creating unlikeable characters. However Dawn’s switch to repenting mother felt like it came out of no where while I was reading. (Though at the end there’s an implication that she truly has not changed her ways.) My low rating is mostly for the Elon Musk glorification and the weird sudden switching Dawn does from abusive mother to “oh I feel so bad.” It seemed very out of character for her after she spent the entire book being an awful person. (I guess that’s one way to act after your son tells you he slept with his long lost sister. But I would have liked to see her reflect a tiny bit more.) Also Emily suddenly getting a huge book deal seemed unrealistic. (As someone who has tried to get published. Then again, I’ve never had a famous Instagram and an article of mine go viral!)
