This book started off ok, then sucked really bad the characters all suddenly had different personalities. Nothing they did lined up with their character, it was horrible.

I quite liked the hero, and the sex scenes were really hot and well-described. Two things I didn't like: At a critical juncture the heroine gets a blackmail note, and rather than talk it through with the hero she runs off. Very stupid. And second, the heroine isn't able to have children (previously married 4 years, no kids, husband has a bastard with another woman) and this is a major reason why she doesn't want to marry the hero (who really wants kids). Then they get married and boom, epilogue with a baby and another on the way, no explanation.

It was much better than I thought it would be. I loved. It didn't hurt that Edward reminded me of the beast from Beauty & the Beast.

This book was a heck of a lot of fun. I can't wait for the next!

Also, is it wrong that I want a Coral book? I am fascinated by her.

Onward!!

If you are looking for some really, really graphic scenes and some drama plus some quite unusual (at least for this literary genre) characters, then I think this book is something you should definitely read :)

Definitely can tell this was one of her earlier books. But it was HOT! Love me a widow and a widower and some nice anonymous seggs that is somehow stalkerish but not creepy. The fable tied in wonderfully as usual.  My libraries do not have the second or third though so we will need to figure that out.  I'll deffo continue.  I liked that she was a lady but not of society (idk the terms).

This book supports women's rights and women's wrongs!!! (and it is very sex-positive and sex-work sympathetic)

There was an Elizabeth Hoyt novella included at the end of a recent historical romance I read, which intrigued me enough to check out Hoyt’s bibliography. When I saw she had written a beauty and the beast retelling, with the main female character being named Anna Wren, I had to pick it up. The consent in The Raven Prince is a bit dubious with hidden identities, but I did enjoy the characters.
