genuinely pretty average. I liked the development and how open they were with each other, but their relationship didn't feel organic to me. like they didn't really get to know each other? fuckbuddies only ig.

I liked the emotion part, because just when they were getting to the emotion in the first book, it ended. However, I couldn't relate to the characters at all when it came to their decision and like the characters, I don't like that the decision was taken away from them. Sort of a TV way to not have to hit on a controversial topic.

Given the blurb, this duology was far more wholesome than I expected and I love it.
I love this couple so much.

You know when you read a story and are invested in the MC’s and then the story ends and leaves you wanting more? This book is exactly what happens when my favorite couple stays together. [a:Cara McKenna|3414533|Cara McKenna|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1457060732p2/3414533.jpg] writes books for adults, actual mature couples, dealing in a mature way with REAL emotions and passion. I can’t get enough of her writing.

This story has some heavy issues, but deals with them so beautifully. I highlighted so many quotes and had so many FEELINGS but will leave with just this one.
“Why are you with me?” she asked, careful to sound curious and not defensive.

His answer came at once. “The way you make me feel.”

“How do I make you feel?”

"Lots of ways. You make me feel understood, I guess. And appreciated, and useful. And trusted. And out-of-my-mind horny beyond belief.”

4.25 stars. This was quite an emotional follow up to Willing Victim, and I didn't really expect the storyline but it was a satisfying conclusion for Flynn and Laurel.
