Richtig gut geschriebenes Buch!

If I could give this a 4.5 rating I would. I can’t decide if I should round up or not. It was a great start to the third saga of this series. Again, very confusing with the arbitrary switching of the 3 apprentice cats, and again irritating with the overplayed youthful arrogance of those cats. Overall a compelling storyline, although I don’t know what the hell the prophecy is supposed to be about those cats. Confusing.

I love that Graystripe is finally back with the clans! Seeing him and Stormfur both get to act as full Thunderclan warriors was nice, and I'm glad they're finally in the same clan as well.
*MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD*
Going into this arc knowing who the three kit's parents actually are makes me more aware of all the clues that foreshadowed this. I mean, visually, the three kits were always described as looking more like Leafpool and Crowfeather than Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw, so that alone was always suspicious to me. Squirrelflight also leaves the nursery before the kits become apprentices, goes back to warrior duties quickly, and isn't really interested in being around the kits much. Add in that another queen had to nurse them, and it does feel obvious that Squirrelflight isn't their mother. I would like to know (but I'm not sure if it's ever addressed) if Squirrelflight told Brambleclaw that these were Leafpool's kits. I almost feel like she must have, since Brambleclaw isn't overly involved with his kits at all.
As for the kits themselves, Hollypaw's devotion to the warrior code and laser-focus on it still bores me, even though I know it leads into a good arc. Lionpaw was a pretty standard young kit/apprentice character, but I found myself really liking him for his devotion to his siblings and sense of humor. Jaypaw's gifts are extremely interesting and unique, and I actually don't mind his sarcasm! With how overprotective some of his clanmates are (and how completely rude enemy cats are) about his blindness, he has beyond every right to be irked by his situation.
I am looking forward to seeing the kits grow more as characters, and I know that'll happen in later books.
