This is a great start to a new series by Shae Michaels. I loved the characters and the story was a great enemies to lovers hockey read. Can't wait to see what happens next.

This is a new series featuring hockey teams, we do encounter previous characters from Shae's Pine Ridge series and has similar humour and unique characters.
This is a light humorous story where the banter is just another form of fore play for these two hockey players. JJ likes to pretend he doesn't take life too seriously but we soon find out from his lifetime friends that he is in fact the sweetest and most generous of people. They both have stories about their childhood which I think explains their personalities. We didn't really get to the bottom of why JJ's family act like they do but it is enough to show what he has to deal with. Lots of secondary characters in this book, so I look forward to finding out who gets their story next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I absolutely loved this! I mean it's a steamy hockey romance with Rivals to Lovers trope so I was pretty sure it was gunna be a win for me to begin with, but I honestly just loved it. J.J. was one of those MCs who you want to hate, but you can't. He's cocky and full of himself. He offers absolutely zero apologies for his behavior because he point blank isn't sorry. That's just how he is. But he's also sweet in his own way. Giving is his love language and even though some of the things he decides would make the perfect gifts are downright outrageous or completely off the mark, it comes from a place of love.
Jaime is definitely his opposite in personality. He's more subdued. Doesn't like to swear. He likes this things orderly and by the book. He makes a plan for things instead of flying by the seat of his pants like J.J. seems to favor. These two absolutely should not work on paper, but somehow they just do. Especially in the bedroom. I mean holy hell these two set the sheets on fire and it seems it's also the one place besides the ice where Jaime sheds his subdued personality and evenly meets J.J. on his playing field.
"I hope you got some sleep on the plane. It's going to be a long night."
I also enjoyed the little bits we see of the other hockey players. There are some big secrets that come out near the end and have me wondering which couple is going to be next. I can't wait to find out who it's going to be!

The writing was just too clunky for me. It didn’t really flow and the characters were super childish. It was like they were 13 not professional hockey players in their mid 20s.

I love a good rivals to lovers story and Shae Michaels packs Johnson x2 with their signature blend of sweet and steamy romance. This one involved forced proximity, only one bed and a lot of awkward sweet moments once they resolved their on-ice differences...
I truly appreciate the chance to get a glimpse of JJ and his found family as well as some glimpses of future stories in this series!

I finally picked up this book just to get it off my to-read list, and I DNFed 11 pages in.
“And it sure as hell didn’t stop me from jerking myself off a time or two while watching those video clips. What can I say? I did like me a little freckle-sprinkled ginger and cream, every now and then, and Jaime Johnson was the epitome of milky-white skin smattered with a heavy layer of freckles, topped off with a head of slightly wavy gingery-red hair. Plus the thought of dirtying up that too-pure-for-profanity mouth by shoving my cock into it… Hmm hmm hmm. Gets me shooting off every single time.”
I don’t know who finds this sexy or every appropriate. Jacking off to innocent videos of an unsuspecting person, especially one who you actually know in person, without their consent? Talking about shoving your cock in someone’s mouth who literally has shown zero interest? It’s vulgar, perverted, and creepy. The whole situation is absolutely disgusting, especially given that these thoughts are coupled with JJ making vulgar gestures and statements that make Jaime uncomfortable. If your thoughts would be considered sexual harassment if voiced out loud, there’s a problem.
