I probably should have persisted, but I wasn't taken by what felt like slightly lackluster worldbuilding, confusing name-drops, a strange dynamic between two characters, and how the purpose of the school and what occurs there remained vague/confusing. Again, if I kept reading, I'm sure that more would have come to light and these characters may have hooked me, so I may return to this book. But right now, it didn't grip me enough.

I was really enjoying this story for around the first half of the book and I liked the main characters 📚. But the rest of the story just become less interesting the more I read and by the end I found I just didn’t really care anymore sadly 😕👻

I will admit I was lost at times and would highly recommend you read it physically and be paying attention to everything! The povs switched around which threw me off, and kinda why it was a 4 star for me.

The concept was so good with the between worlds and mystery of all these men going missing, sprinkled in with a bit romance while we follow Delaney who’s deaf!

it had all the elements i love in a book! the paranormal creepiness, the dark academia, ghosts, mysteries, etc. I think it's hard to pull off a story where both the main character and the reader are kept in the dark and i think this is probably one of the few times it worked soooo well. bc even tho i was confused at times it was the kind of confusing that fed the intrigue and my curiosity. i loved the subtle foreshadowing of delaney commanding colton without her knowledge. i wouldn't have minded a couple of extra chapters to explain a bit more in depth what exactly happened but over all i loved this book! tbh the only thing that is stopping me from giving this a 5 stars is the g-slur towards the end.
