This book was very hard to get through for me because it’s not the type of prose I enjoy reading. I liked that second half a lot better but it was too close to the reading I did on highschool for me to really love it. Probably 3.5 stars for the last 3rd.

[3.5 stars] This was a quiet little book. It follows the protagonist through a life that reminds me of my midwest, midcentury grandmothers and their friends. I think the author did a good job showing how an ordinary life can also be remarkable.

This book follows one woman's life from around the Great Depression through to the late 1900s/early 2000s. I'm not entirely sure of the timeline. Not much happens, but that's kind of the point. It was well written, but a bit slow. I saw it described as "quiet" and I think that's a good descriptor.
