This book wasn't the worst, but it took me a long, long time to get into it (it's not particularly long but I took almost two months, whoops). As someone who writes myself, I noticed a lot of amateur writing techniques and this book felt very stereotypical with no real outstanding features. I couldn't really describe the characters without using tropes and while the ending was pretty intense, the rest of it was a little dully paced.

Pretty basic and predictable and cringe-worthy overall; the ending was he only decent part of the wool and warranted another star being added to my rating.

Not Bad

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. The two societies seem pretty flat, but Violet, Viggo, and even Lee, are interesting characters to follow around. I will probably read the next one.

Includes Spoilers.

I enjoyed this book.

I did find that Lee's character was predictable. I had a great feeling that he was going to be a "bad guy. Viggo was my favorite character but I knew within Violet's first seeing of his photo there would be a romance.

I feel like there is a hole in the story. I am wanting to know what was happening at the neighbor's house.

I am sure I will read the next book.
