Okay so this had potential, but I feel like a couple of elements fell flat.

The sisterhood and the found family that I was initially expecting was just not there. Or it was there, but it was a skewed version. The way the MC tried so hard to fit into these girls was just not working (or maybe I'm just too introverted for this 😂) Also the fatphobia and the racist micro aggressions from your supposed "friends"?? No thanks 😭

The feminist theme was good at first too (werewolves preying on boys who manipulate and take advantage of girls). But then it got weird. I know they got desperate and they were starving and all, but still doesn't sit right with me.

That being said, the art style and the colors was just too good. I loved flipping the page and getting to see the art there. I also loved the queer/sapphic rep. That one was a lovely surprise.

Great visuals and story was unique even though it was about werewolves. Plot could have been more fleshed out in last 25% to feel more intentional. Great WLW rep.

the sapphic storyline feels tossed in for kicks, but the rest of the graphic novel is very intriguing. it is definitely a product of the “women bite back” era of media (ex. Promising Young Woman). wasn’t thrilled with the resolution, not sure what message it’s trying to send, but overall a fun read!

This was exactly what I expected, but was too short and the ending felt very abrupt. The characters faced barely any consequences either. However, I did like this a lot. I loved the art style, the conversation on internalized misogyny and the girl power. I also enjoyed that instead of the authors just accepting "that its fine to murder people if they're bad", and instead giving other perspectives and showing how selfish and hypocritical Arianna was. I felt like the mean girl aspect of wanting to belong to a group but choosing to belong with toxic controlling people because you want to be popular, was well done, but also I wanted more of it. Overall, I actually just wanted more. I will be looking forward to more from this duo of authors and artists.

This was a fairly easy fantasy graphic novel but did have some tidbits I think others might have issues about. With that being said, there is some cursing and discussion of sexual topics, if that’s not your thing, maybe skip this one.

This story is about three high school girls in a werewolf pack who need a fourth when a new girl starts at their school that seems the perfect fit. They get her alone and offer to change her and explain how it works: they’re faster, stronger, and better looking but they have to devour a human body once a month. And they always pick jerks and they can leave zero evidence. Except things go very wrong when the alpha’s boyfriend hits on one of the other girls. The art is reminiscent of 80’s neon, but with a modern twist. I thoroughly enjoyed the title and would read more by these lovely graphic artists: Maggie Tokuda-Hall & Lisa Sterle.

I describe this book as Mean Girls meets Jennifer's Body. I thought the art was great, and I enjoyed the characters. I didn't like that
Spoilerthe protagonist's love interest ended up being someone who kept making racist microaggressions towards her.
Still, the narrative was fun, and I liked the designs and the story.
