I would like to have met Maya Angelou. She seems to have been a great person.

The picture it paints is so bold yet the writer's softer heartedness is reflected in her style, or should I say her kindness....its beautiful.

It took a little while for me to get used to the writing and actually interested in the story, but within a hundred pages it REALLY captured my attention. Her writing is beautiful and descriptive and painfully aware of how her younger self perceived the situation of her birth and life. However, the last few chapters come off awkward as it strays from the usual pacing, but considering she had more autobots it makes sense.

Although it was hard to read due to the heavy topics it deals with. The chapters weren't super connected with each other either so it felt like it was incomplete at some parts. However it's still a very important read. I wish that this was a long memoir rather than a book series of memoirs tho, since I wanted to read more of this.
