The premise seemed so interesting but the characters are incredibly dull and the writing style isn't for me. I really tried to stick with it but it is actively making me not want to read and I just can't waste any more time on it.

I went into this expecting the "forbidden" summer romance between Fahad and Ali to be more central to the story than it actually was. This unexpected shift altered my perception, but I still tried to appreciate the story for what it truly is. Other Names for Love explores themes of masculinity, inheritance, the impact of one's actions on others, and most significantly, suppressed desire.

Fahad is called back to a place he thought he had forgotten to handle the remnants of what was once his inheritance. Throughout it all, he can only think about Ali, the boy who awakened his desire, and the memories of when he was last there. The events of that summer caused Fahad to suppress the memories of his desire and forgo his inheritance, which is now what’s called him back.

Other Names for Love reads like poetry. Surprisingly for its length, it is a bit slow paced but it paints its setting beautifully.
