This novel is brilliant, hilarious, unique. I loved every bit of it and fell in love with the perfectly imperfect characters.
I really enjoyed the subtle millennial slander. They deserve it.

I’m looking forward to reading more from Jen Beargin.

Well this was a wild ride. It had me laughing at some points, and blushing at others. However, it was more serious then I expected it to be. Definitely an interesting story.

Some really interesting characters and themes but like kind of too unbearable/unlikeable/flat out mean. I’m a big fan of unhinged girlie books, but this kind of felt needless and some of Greta/Sabine’s offhanded remarks hit incorrectly. Characters can be racist and cruel cause people are too, but I’d like for the satire/motivation behind it to be more intentional. Also, with the narration of this book I kept forgetting Greta was much older than Big Swiss, which is maybe the point, but whenever it mentioned that Big Swiss was 28 I was like… wait really? Mostly I enjoyed what this book had to say, but the execution wasn’t quite right I think.

Read for Bad Bitch Book Club's April 2023 book.

I don't know how to review this book. I am glad that it is a book club pick so that I can talk through it because what. This is one of those books that I'm left thinking 'What just happened?". I understand it but I don't understand the reasoning for it? I am dying for someone I know to review it so that I can see what others think.

There is a racist comment in this book, as well as a fatphobic comment and that's just what I caught. I see a lot of people bringing attention to them and I do want to acknowledge that.

Overall, it just didn't do it for me. It was hard to see the purpose of this book, it was very stream of consciousness and rambly. Based on other reviews, it does seem like this is pretty characteristic for the author, however, I have not read anything else by the author so maybe it's just not for me.
