This manga has got me hooked. I've heard raving reviews of the anime, but wanted to check out the manga first.
My favorite quote so far is the stories reflection on humans vs animals. This manga does a good job at combining philosophical elements with horror.
The book quotes that animals can not control their environment and thus adapt through change by experiencing pain. On the contrary, humans deal with change by experiencing emotions. I found this quote deeply embeded in the scenes of the manga. This is very similar to the MC dying constantly (or what ever the orb life form is) as it dies constantly while learning about its environment. While on the other hand the little girl in this book experience emotional pain as she is forced to be a sacrifice.
Overall, awesome art style, horror elements and great writing elements. I can't wait to read the others.

I loved the series A Silent Voice, so when I saw the author also did a series called To Your Eternity, I needed to read it.

I was very NOT prepared for this one. A Silent Voice deals with heavy themes such as bullying - the main plot - and su¡©¡d€, but for some reason the first chapter of volume 1 hit me really hard and I actually needed to take some time before finishing it.

The story itself is not a soft one, which is on par with A Silent Voice, and I'm absolutely going to be continuing it, but for some reason it just hit me in a way I wasn't prepared for.

If you don't read manga but enjoy anime, there's a show based off this as well, though I haven't seen it.

It begins its journey on Earth as an orb. Then takes the form of a rock. Then a wolf. Then a human boy. The orb takes the form of what it touches. Its path to becoming a human in the first half left me emotionally devastated. To Your Eternity is surprisingly as powerfully moving as it is dark.
This is a story of life and death; of reincarnation and afterlife. Is there a paradise when we leave this mortal coil?

The second part of this volume focuses on a village where a young girl called March resides with her parents. All she wants is to be a grown up. But then, during a village ceremony, March is selected as a sacrifice to Oniguma, the Spirit Bear. Will March be able to escape her fate? She has an older friend in the village watching out for her, a girl called Parona who has a great skill in archery. Will she be able to help? And how will this story intertwine with the nameless boy who is just learning what it means to be human?

4.5 Stars - giving it a 4 overall! Intrigued where this story goes next. Kindle is giving out a lot of first volumes of Manga series as free downloads to keep at the moment - not just on KU! Given me an incentive to try out different ones that I may not have done otherwise.

A friend told me that he improved his German by reading manga. I never would have thought to do this, but after reading this book, which was my first manga book, I now understand why. Most everything is dialogue. Which, of course, is what I’m using each day when I’m communicating in the language. Trying to pick up a usual book in German (for instance, Harry Potter) is too difficult when first learning a language; what’s written isn’t how you talk. If learning a language, I recommend manga. And this was a great book to start with. The story is interesting, and I do wonder where it will go next enough to get book 2.

This is a pretty fast paced manga. We start with "It" as an orb that goes through different transformations on Earth. The story gives off mysterious vibes since we go through the journey along with It, who is later named Fushi. I wasn't expecting the storyline to take a darker turn, but it was necessary for the growth of Fushi as it develops more emotions and growth as a human. It's a good start into the series and I plan on purchasing more volumes.

Chapter one is simply beautiful as a stand-alone piece. And the rest is incredible as well. I’ve watched the anime for this, so I knew what was/is coming but this is just such a beautiful read
