This was a nice, well rounded, everything is closed-up-yet-left-open-for-more-possible-stories-to be-told ending. I felt like the ending of the book and main storyline was anticlimactic and rushed. I would have liked to have seen a bigger battle scene instead of the 2 pages of fighting then the solution to solving everything just falls into their laps. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy how every character got to grow and the redemption arc 2 of the characters go through. Though that one part about what Nyx did to Neferet (aka Batsh*t) was just...weird and kinda messed it up for me. I have mixed feelings on what happened to Other Neferet at the end; while I liked how she ended up, I also feel it could have went a different way and been just as good.
As always the writing in the House of Night series is wonderful and the way the chapters change point of views is never confusing and always cohesive and interesting. I love how every character got a happy ending and everything was resolved, yet there is a back door-so to speak- if P.C decides to continue the House of Night World with a new series or stories.
I first read the original House of Night books when I was 13-14 and I am not 23. I grew up with these books and this is my second time reading the series (first time reading The Otherworld series) and I have bittersweet feelings about finishing this series. While I'm gone to be done and move on to other series I will miss the world of The House of Night not to mention it's characters.
