That was pretty good. I was familiar with the character but had not read the book. After all, why should I!? I'm not a child and never was at the time-oh it's older than I thought. I could have read this as a child. Anyway the other aspect, of having (or taking care of) a child is also not applicable. I just need to match up to my Goodreads Reading Challenge number (I saw "The Gruffalo" and "The Gruffalo" looked good).
I might reread it a few times to increase the number further. But then, that's how it's intended to be read, isn't it? Nobody that reads "The Gruffalo" gets away with only reading it once.

Adorably drawn and with a good message. Loved the little mouse when I was little, especially as a kid who had to lie to survive

A little mouse goes for a walk in the deep dark woods, and fends off all sorts of predators by making up the gruffalo. But coming face-to-face with an actual gruffalo (who wants to eat the mouse), the little mouse thinks quickly and tricks the gruffalo into running away in fear.

A hilarious story with a tricky little mouse as the protagonist. Great for reading aloud to a classroom (grades 1-3).
